Arranged by Yasuhiko Takashiba Original composer: T-SQUARE (Masahiro Andoh) Developer: Jaleco Released: 1993 Game: F-1 Grand Prix Star II Platform: Jaleco Mega System 1 OTHER INFORMATION: Sound Specs YM2151 @ 3.5MHz + 2xOKI MSM6295 @ 4MHz (Type A/B/C) OKI MSM6295 @ 2MHz (Type D) YM2203 @ 1.5MHz (Type Z) The playback of this soundtrack has been altered from its default MAME settings. To achieve the maximum quality, I fixed the pitch of the melody / samples and adjusted back the speed to keep it true to the vision of the composer. ABOUT THIS SOUNDTRACK: This game is a typical F-1 racing game that predates a lot of the 3D racing games that became popular in the mid 90's. The music was likely composed by Atsuyoshi Isemura who is credited on the high-score board as "ISE". His compositional style is very clear throughout the music, specifically in the two "Final Lap" tracks, which sound like a mix between Soldam and Rushing Beat's music. Overall I really enjoy the music in this game and I wish there was more. Information about the archive: https://tinyurl.com/TJams3 Special thanks to FMecha for kindly informing me about the sound test menu present in many of these arcade games, which is how I was able to rip the music without SFX.
