In todays episode we sat down with Dayne Weston, born in Goulburn, New South Wales, who began playing rugby league at age six. He left home at 15 to pursue an NRL career, completing high school while representing the Illawarra Steelers. At 17, he signed with the Cronulla Sharks, debuting in the NRL in 2007 under Ricky Stuart. Over his career, he played for the Cowboys, Panthers, and Storm before joining the Leigh Centurions in the UK Super League. In 2017, Dayne retired for personal reasons, facing some of his darkest moments. In 2019, he met his wife, Lidia, and surrendered his life to Jesus. He worked in NRL Game Development before becoming the Wellbeing Operations Manager for the QRL. In 2022, he founded *Men of Gold*, a men’s mental health organization offering group support and educational programs for schools, businesses, and sporting clubs. Now a firefighter on the Gold Coast, Dayne is happily married with two boys and a stepson. He is dedicated to making a positive impact in his community and firmly believes everyone is created with purpose.
