Bringing the Blues Breaker & Tube Screamer is no small feat. HB took on this challenge. Below you will find the shortest, most objective and concise review of the HB Tag Team: Pros: can emulate TS and BB with some differences controls work similar to those of the originals simple to use order switch is efficient HOT/WARM switch offers two different pedals for the right side good versatile tones can be had works with a wide variety of amps and instruments Cons: cheap build, down to the SMT construction (this not a smartphone, a computer, a modeller or a complex pedal like CBA stuff, so the only reason for SMT is cutting cost) the pedal is almost empty inside, but does not operate on batteries less volume available than on a true tube screamer (in WARM mode) Neutral: true bypass (something which we personally prefer) The Verdict: It's a good drive, that could be great. If HB had set themselves to outdo old Boss with a solid full THD construction, quality finish and 9V operation, they would have created something marvelous. It stops short of that, but it's still a good drive, especially for the price. The tube screamer side (WARM mode) lacking a bit of volume even for a vintage single coil strat is not exactly great. But you can work around that. Compared to post-2015 Boss, there is far more value in here. We'd recommend it over any new Boss offering near its price range, but far better options can be found in the boutique world for the same money (such as the mighty PFX Gemini Deluxe).
