Cinematic 4K DJI Air2S Drone footage of Saint-Émilion, Libourne (Gironde, Nouvelle-Aquitaine), France. Saint-Émilion is a medieval city located at the crossroads of Bordeaux, Saintonge and Périgord. Saint-Émilion and surrounding vineyards was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999, owing to its long, living history of wine-making, Romanesque churches and ruins stretching all along steep and narrow streets. Major sights in Saint-Émilion include the 11th century monolithic church (Église Monolithe de Saint-Émilion), the 13th century King's Tower (Tour du Roy) and the 14th century Cordelier Cloister (Cloître des Cordeliers). Vineyards make up more than 67% of the land area of the commune. Therefore it comes to no surprise that Saint-Émilion is one of the principal red wine areas of Bordeaux along with the Médoc, Graves and Pomerol. The primary grape varieties used are the Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with relatively small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon.
