Taken from a Cab ride aboard the pioneer 4EPB 5001 as part of the 'EPB GREEN GODDESS' trip, as organised by the Southern Electric Group on Saturday 13 April 1991. This segment covers the long closed and part-Tramlink converted Elmers End-Addiscombe line. The branch closed to traffic on 31 May 1997 and so this footage is partly unique. The section from Elmers End to Woodside survives served today by trams however the section from Woodside to Addiscombe has long since disappeared. Despite heavy preservation attempts the Addiscombe station site was sadly bulldozed during 2001-2003. Part of the embankment sections remain today as a public footpath. The Pioneer 4EPB 5001 itself was unfortunately scrapped in May 2004. Footage recorded/transferred from VHS from the 'EPB Green Goddess on Tour' video. My only objective in posting this here is that others who share this interest can continue to see this historic footage in the future. Transferred from Toshiba VHS recorder via DVD Software.
