Pathway to Discovery — Session 1 Why We Study the Bible About the Pathway to Discovery Initiative Pathway to Discovery is an ongoing discipleship initiative designed to help believers grow with confidence, clarity, and joy. Each pathway focuses on a practical area of the Christian life—whether learning to study the Bible, understanding the story of redemption, building spiritual habits, or exploring foundational truths of the faith. The goal isn’t information overload or academic pressure, but simple, accessible steps that help every believer take their next step with Jesus. About This Pathway: How to Study the Bible This pathway is a simple, practical journey designed to help believers learn how to study the Bible with confidence and joy. It’s not about being a scholar or having all the answers—it’s about discovering the beauty of God’s Word and learning how to hear His voice through Scripture. Session 1 — Why We Study the Bible In this session, we explore the heart behind Bible study. Why does Scripture matter? Why does God speak through His Word? And how does reading the Bible actually shape our lives? We revisit the Psalm 1 exercise from Orientation, look at Psalm 19:7–8 as our anchor passage, and discover that Bible reading isn’t primarily about us—it’s about encountering the living God. A Note for Recorded Viewers Because this is a recorded course, you’ll occasionally see PAUSE appear on the screen. That’s your cue to pause the video and take a moment to answer, reflect, or respond out loud. If you don’t pause, the teaching will continue quickly—so feel free to take the time you need.
