After nearly three decades of silence, JOHN DEACON has finally made a surprise move – and Queen fans are absolutely stunned! John Deacon, Queen’s legendary bassist, has stayed out of the spotlight since leaving the band in 1997. While his bandmates, Brian May and Roger Taylor, continued touring and collaborating, Deacon chose a life of quiet retirement—no interviews, no public appearances, no music. He played a key role in Queen’s success, writing hits like You're My Best Friend and Another One Bites the Dust, and was deeply affected by Freddie Mercury’s passing in 1991. But now, in a rare and unexpected gesture, John Deacon has broken his silence… He’s reunited—at least in spirit—with May and Taylor to sign a special copy of A Night at the Opera, Queen’s iconic 1975 album featuring Bohemian Rhapsody and his own song, You're My Best Friend The signatures, verified to be genuine and written in the last two weeks, mark Deacon’s first public involvement with Queen in nearly 30 years. This isn’t just a reunion for nostalgia—it's for a cause close to the band’s heart. The signed album will be auctioned at the Freddie Mercury Birthday Party on September 6th in Montreux, Switzerland. Proceeds will go to the Mercury Phoenix Trust, supporting global HIV/AIDS awareness in memory of Freddie Mercury. The auction will be held at Casino Barrière Montreux, once home to Queen’s Mountain Studios. Fans attending the event can place their bids in person starting at 12 PM. While this doesn’t mean a full return to the band, it’s a powerful gesture from the quietest Queen member—reminding us that, even in silence, John Deacon still holds Queen close to his heart.
