Paint Correcting a 25 Year Old JDM Honda | EK9 Project KI-45 | Episode 8

Well this was an interesting process. What I thought would take 1-2 weeks ended up taking me almost two moths to finish. Everything was much more labor intensive then I thought it would be and I found that I had to slow down on just about everything. So as I showed I started with the washing and decontaminating the paint. Which again took was longer then I expected. Requiring multiple steps, a pre-wash, iron remover, another wash, descale and final wash. oh, and clay bar. and this was all just to start. So I finally got to move on to the polishing part. At this point I started with the hood which took me about 4-5 full passes to get my rhythm down for the amount of product and what speed gave me the right results. at this point I'll also found that I didn't have the right towels as my cars clear was so soft everytime I went to wipe off the the compound I would introduce very minor, fine scratches (I ended up with 4 different textured "microfiber" cloths) The entire car had minor imperfections that needed to be polished out. thankfully it only requested a micro-cut polish combo. Once I worked through all the polishing my final steps were to apply the ceramic coating and top coat. As I said the entire process took me about 2 months. If I had been really able to work on the car everyday I could have probably got it finished in 3-4 days. I look forward to being able to follow up on how the ceramic coating and other cleaners do.
