Few figures define the revolutionary era of the late 1960s and early 1970s like Angela Yvonne Davis. After a 1970 courthouse raid intended to free George Jackson ended in tragedy, the guns used were registered in her name. Though she was not present, Angela Davis was placed on the FBI’s Most Wanted list. She went on the run. Supporters disguised themselves as her. Her FBI photo became an international symbol of resistance. After 16 months in jail, she was tried and acquitted of all charges in 1972. This episode of Brad Sanders Presents: Moment in Black History explores the story behind the movement, the trial, and the legacy of Angela Davis. Power to the people. #AngelaDavis #MomentInBlackHistory #BlackHistory #CivilRights #Revolutionary #BradSanders #HistoryShorts #BlackExcellence
