Guzheng: Zen Tan Composer: Li Yiming Producer: Vanessa Leung More about the performer: Zen started learning the Guzheng at the age of 13 under the tutelage of Mdm He Yan and is currently learning under the tutelage of Mdm Yin Qun. As an aspiring young musician, he clinched the First Prize (Guzheng Intermediate Category) in the Singapore Chinese Music Competition 2020 organised by the Singapore Chinese Orchestra and Silver Award (Professional Adult Category) in the 1st edition of the World Guzheng Competition 2022 organised by the Asian Art Association Singapore. As an avid performer, Zen is passionate in playing the Guzheng and showcases his talents in the community regularly with the aim of sharing the love for Chinese music with his audiences. More about the piece: "Classical Elegance" is one of the pieces featured in "Appreciating Guzheng through Poetry - A collective of original Guzheng works" composed by Ms Li Yiming (Associate Guzheng Professor of Shenyang Conservatory of Music). The titles of the pieces are inspired by Sikong Tu's “Twenty-four Styles of Poetry" (Tang Dynasty) . The first half of the music is calm and serene, like "white clouds scattering after rain" "zither pillowed in a green shade". The latter half is meticulous and clear, lively and vivid as "an overhead cascading waterfall“. The tempo at the end is rubato, like "petals falling without sound", creating a meaningful ending for the piece. 古筝演奏：陈正 作曲家：李宜洺 视频制作：梁恩雪 关于演奏者： 陈正从十三岁习筝，启蒙于何艳老师，现在师从尹群老师。作为一名优秀的青年音乐爱好者，他在2020年的新加坡华乐比赛（古筝中级组）荣获冠军，同时也在2022年首届世界古筝大赛中荣获（专业青年A组）银奖。陈正酷爱演奏古筝，经常会在社区演出，把他对古筝与华乐的热爱分享并激励他的听众。 关于这首曲子： 《典雅》出自李宜洺（ 沈阳音乐学院古筝副教授 ） 的原创曲集《循诗品筝》 ，书中每首曲目标题都来自晚唐司空图的《二十四诗品》 。这首音乐小品前半部分以恬静的氛围为基调，似“白云初晴”“眠琴绿阴”，琶音轻巧而雅致，后半部绵密而清晰，似“上有飞瀑”般生动而勃发，尾声处自由的渐行渐远“落花无言”却意味无穷。
