One benefit there is, of telling our own story is that we get to choose how the story is told. This is exemplified in TY Bello’s work as an artiste both as a photographer and a musician. As she shares in this talk, she is very keen about using what she is good at - which is creating beauty- to convey the messages she is passionate about. She also strives always to use her work to find beauty in environments and situations that might otherwise be considered not beautiful. This is because “we are so immersed in reality that we need an alternate reality”, she states. She further admonishes, “Beauty does have a place and the world is very dark. We must not be afraid to have a different perspective” as she charges our creativity in this talk.
