General Burnside s Grand March

Written by James I. Graham in 1861, this is one of at least five marches written during the American Civil War and dedicated to Ambrose Burnside, who rose to the rank of Major General in the Union Army and even briefly (very briefly) commanded the Army of the Potomac. This march was published by T.W. Wood of Newport, Rhode Island. Burnside would go on to serve as the 30th Governor of Rhode Island and then one term in the United States Senate.
