Surf Anywhere: Create and Ride Your Own River Wave

Canadian river surfing collective Surf Anywhere teamed up with the University of Ottawa and the Alberta River Surfing Association to develop a series of ten different standing river waves. The research results will be publicly revealed so that anyone can create their own DIY river wave anywhere in the world. Surf Anywhere wants to expand river surfing and promote the development of artificial waves in inland environments. The 3D wave channel project features a multiple kicker system installed on the bottom of the river to shape the desired wave. There will be ten different types of artificial river waves: 1. Perpendicular wave; 2. Bowl wave; 3. Left or right bowl wave; 4. Oblique wave; 5. Oblique to perpendicular wave; 6. A-frame wave; 7. Perpendicular wave with pile using attack kickers; 8. Wave with pile using attack kickers at the end of the channel; 9. Bowl outside of channel; 10.
