We took MLK day off at the shop and headed down to explore the haunted underground tunnels of Pogue’Run which runs surreptitiously beneath downtown Indianapolis including Conseco Fieldhouse, The Lilly’s campus and Lucas Oil Stadium. This is where Pogues Run Creek was subverted underground at New York street to make way for the expanding city of Indianapolis. Stomping through the now subterranean creek is a couple of miles and took us 1 1/2 hours on the way through the wetter leftmost of the double box culverts and an hour on the way back through the drier tunnel. The damp dark passages were full of strange sounds and dark corners and lots of graffiti around the two entrances during our urban exploration. These tunnels do flood with rain and should be avoided and approached carefully at all times with multiple light sources. If you use your phone it will go out and leave you stranded in the dark a mile from sunlight. It is to long to make the whole distance. Remember, you can always find cool apparel for all your adventures at organicrobotdesigns.com or stop by our store on Greenfield,IN and share with us your adventures! Long live the adventure! To hear about some of the history of Pogue’s Run you can watch the whole video. To skip right to the underground stream start at 5:10 Mark.
