3/14/2025 - I drove highway 20 from Willits to Fort Bragg. There was snow falling between Ukiah and Willits and still some on the hills and ground on Highway 20. The day was awesome with the Rain in the Redwoods. You're traveling along Highway 20, snaking through the lush, towering redwoods of California. The rain transforms the forest into something almost magical. Droplets cling to the needle-like leaves of the redwoods, glittering like tiny jewels. The earthy scent of damp soil and pine fills the air, rich and grounding. The steady patter of rain on your car's roof creates a soothing rhythm, blending with the occasional rush of wind through the trees. Mist hugs the forest floor, giving it an ethereal, otherworldly quality, while the canopy above provides a natural umbrella, filtering the light into soft, muted hues. The asphalt of the road shines, slick and reflective, capturing the endless greenery like a mirror. Time seems to slow in this serene setting, offering a sense of connection to nature that's rare and beautiful. It's the perfect blend of calm and wild—a rainy day among the redwoods is an experience to cherish.
