This is PART 2 of the discussion on Group 2 pronouns, specifically their used as POSSESSIVE pronouns, and focusing on the plural pronouns, like: • NATIN (our, including the listener) • NAMIN (our, excluding the listener) • NINYO (your) • NILA (their) There are FOUR things to remember about the Tagalog personal pronouns: 1. They can either be in the FIRST PERSON, the SECOND PERSON or the THIRD PERSON. 2. Each type can either be in the SINGULAR form or the PLURAL form. 3. they can be grouped in to THREE. Depending on what resource material you read, or which teacher you listen to, they come in a variety of group names. But for simplicity’s sake, in this channel, I will call them GROUP 1, GROUP 2 and GROUP 3. 4. There is a unique personal pronoun KITÁ that is very hard to place and as such, is a category in itself. In this video, we will begin tackling GROUP 2, which comes at a variety of fancy names. They are called by any of these names: • Indirect pronoun • Objective pronoun • Out of Focus pronoun • Genitive pronoun • Possessive pronoun You may hear any of these names, and they essentially mean all the personal pronouns under Group 2. Group 2 pronouns are used in the following instances: 1. They are used as POSSESIVE pronouns expressing one’s ownership of something 2. They are use in what is called OBJECT-Focused sentences. This does not exist in English and will be interesting to discuss 3. In phrases that talk about oneself 4. With temporal adverb 5. With prepositions or words that convey location 6. As part of a question 7. As an exclamation, and 8.
