In this first episode of Faizlogs, I take you along on an unforgettable journey through two of Jaipur's most iconic forts — Amer Fort and Jaigarh Fort! Starting at the majestic Amer Fort, built in the 16th century by Raja Man Singh I, I explore the stunning blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture. Known for its grand courtyards, intricate mirror work, and breathtaking views, Amer Fort feels like stepping back into the royal past of Rajasthan. But the adventure didn’t stop there. I decided to take the lesser-known on-foot trek from Amer to Jaigarh Fort — a 2-3 KM uphill path that winds through rugged terrain and quiet surroundings. At first, I was completely alone on the trek and honestly, a bit scared — especially because of the unexpected company of a few mischievous monkeys along the way! It was just me, my camera, and an eerie silence. But just when the nerves were kicking in, I met two travelers from Romania who were also making their way up! We quickly bonded over the climb, and their company turned what could have been a scary solo hike into a wholesome international adventure. Jaigarh Fort, built in 1726 by Maharaja Jai Singh II, is famous for housing the world's largest cannon on wheels — the Jaivana Cannon. Unlike the more ornate Amer Fort, Jaigarh has a more rugged and defensive feel, reflecting its primary purpose as a military fort designed to protect Amer. The view from the top is simply surreal, offering panoramic glimpses of the Aravalli hills and the pink city of Jaipur in the distance.
