Kicked things off in the Reading Yard seeing the newest edition to the Norfolk Southern Heritage Fleet -- the Delaware & Hudson. Beautiful unit, very nicely painted. I love the Delaware & Hudson. We got to the Reading Yard at the perfect time, enough time to take pictures and enough time to see it moving. If we would've gotten there only 10 minutes later, we probably would've seen it down further and would've gotten bad photos since we would've had to zoom in! But no, great timing, great photos I got, and a great video. The day was off to a really great start. We arrived at Piscataway, NJ great railfanning spot by the way, and we kicked things off with CSX I030. Great to see CSX after it has been a long time -- months after the CSX reroutes ended on the Harrisburg Line. It felt refreshing in a way. Santa and his crew with the fire department were then interrupted by 18N! They actually were about to cross, but 18N stopped that, however it was perfect timing because as soon as 18N passed, I got a video of the holiday parade. Then, M403 passes with a great horn show and a MAC leader! I love MAC leaders! It was also great seeing the Nickelplate Heritage Unit, been waiting a long time to see it and seeing it on that day couldn't have been any better! Well, it was now time to wait for the Holiday Train, however it was held up by CSX M300, delaying the time by a few minutes. The Santa Train slowly rolled through Piscataway, with a great horn show. It was really an amazing experience and super cool to see. We then headed to Cateret, where it was reversing, preparing to switch the tracks to head into the Port Reading Yard. The train headed into the Port Reading Yard, where it was then stationary. Me and my friends got great videos of the Conrail Holiday Train on the move. It was so awesome to see it! As it was then stationary in the Port Reading Yard, me and my friends and a bunch of other people were allowed to go into the yard to go see Santa. We walk in, and see 2 CSX GP40-2's. We also saw a lot of Conrail trucks, which were pretty cool. Got a lot of pictures and videos of it stationary, very cool to see! They really put on a good show for the railfans! We even got a cab tour! Such a great experience!!! Shout-out to the crews, I would've never expected my night to end on a cab tour!!! Very nice crews in the Port Reading Yard, and such a cool train and such a great moment!! Such a peak day, the best railfanning weekend, the best catch ever, I waited a long time to see it! It was also so amazing and great to meet so many railfans in Piscataway and in Cateret!! Awesome people, so glad I met everybody there. Great weekend, great people, great friends, great times, great trains this was really the best way to start the Holiday Season and to end 2025. This is my final post and upload on YouTube for 2025. Also, this was all of my action in December so there will be no "Trains of December". As of right now I have no plans for railfanning for the beginning of 2026, so I have no idea what's to come next, and I have no idea when my next upload might be.
