A bit delayed with this, but hey, the Christmas vibe’s not (hopefully) over yet. Unexpected and out of nowhere, the blast of the weapons ceased. Instead, they replaced the bloody battle with a football match. As the Holidays ended, the fun was gone and each soldier returned back to their cold trenches. The battle continued as if no peaceful Christmas were celebrated at all. They were simply not used in battle back then. • Ottoman & the company | Ottomans, as well as Serbs, Montenegrins (& maybe more) might not made direct combat in this front*. I’m basically highlighting countries which took part in WWI before Christmas 1914. Pls spare me if I would forget some other countries. The Ottomans although had their own truce with ANZAC (troops from Australia & New Zealand), later in Spring 1915. • No, they didn’t use guns to dress Christmas trees, right?
