The Minstrel Boy - Alton Jaeger Fife and Drum Memorial Day, 2020 Alton, Illinois The Alton Jaeger Fife and Drum Corps is a 501-C Non-Profit Organization dedicated to accurately representing Field Musicians of the American Civil War. We are a group of dedicated living historians who's mission is to bring to life, the memory of those who fought to preserve the Union during the American Civil War. We are based in Alton, Illinois. The Corps participates in parades, presentations, and re-enactments/living history events, providing the sights and sounds of the Civil War. The Alton Jaeger Guard is the military side of the organization and provides the color guard and is active in the authentic campaigning community. Our musicians are located in Illinois and Missouri, and practice once a month in Alton, Illinois, on the Mississippi River.
