Hey everyone, I'm sorry that I haven't uploaded much recently. I was occupied reading Robert Musil's epic tome 'The Man Without Qualities', which is now my second favourite book after 'Infinite Jest'. So good! And now I'm reading Heidegger's 'Being and Time'—wish me luck! In this video, I discuss the impossibility of nihilism and give an example from Perec's 'Life: A User's Manual' of a character who creates chooses to spend the last 50 years of their life in a task so futile that it embraces the meaninglessness of life. Ulrich in Musil's 'The Man Without Qualities' is another great nihilist, while there's another famous nihilistic character in Turgenev's 'Fathers and Sons' if you're interested in reading about more nihilistic characters.
