In this video I travel to Najaf, Iraq for the first time, during the days leading up to Arbaeen, the largest annual pilgrimage in the world. Over 20 million people gather in Iraq to walk from Najaf to Karbala, in memory of Imam Hussain, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad. I explore the holy city of Najaf, home to the sacred Imam Ali Shrine, one of the most important sites in Iraq. I walk through the historic Najaf Bazaar, filled with pilgrims from around the world, and experience the build-up to the Arbaeen walk. I talk with locals, experience Iraqi hospitality, and witness how the entire city prepares for this spiritual journey. I try traditional Iraqi street food, including grilled kebabs, the famous daheen dessert, and other juices offered freely by locals. I buy a thobe to wear during the walk and stop at a barbershop for a classic Iraqi haircut. I also explain key travel tips for visiting Iraq during Arbaeen — how to get the Iraqi visa, where to buy a local SIM card, how to exchange money in Najaf, and general safety advice for first-time visitors. If you’re planning to visit Iraq for the first time, especially during Arbaeen in Najaf or Karbala, this video will show you what to expect — from travel logistics to spiritual moments. #Najaf #Iraq #arbaeen
