Many parents leave SEN meetings feeling reassured, only to realise later that key decisions had already been made, or that what was “agreed” carries no formal weight. In this video, I explore the most common ways parents are excluded from SEN decision-making without realising it. Not through overt conflict — but through missing information, unclear wording, informal communication, and assumptions made along the way. This channel highlights how focusing on the child's individual abilities helps to engage them to learn. Advocating for our children who are living with neurodiverse conditions such as ADHD, Autism (ASD), ODD, PDA, Dyslexia and other individual needs that may fall into the category of learning disabilities, moving through setbacks when support is limited, inconsistent or not available, can be a challenge.
