Link to the testimony    • TESTIMONY (Part 1)    ----   WHEN CONVICTI...   LYRICS Verse 1 – Comfortable Faith I was walking in the light I knew Serving with a grateful heart I found my home inside those walls Church felt safe from the start Born again in younger days I gave my life to You When I wandered, You brought me back Your Ruach pulled me through My friends were there, my children too It felt so right, so whole I never knew a quiet voice Was slowly stirring in my soul Pre-Chorus In Psalm one-nineteen we stayed Your Torah, Your ways, Your truth displayed And something started breaking through A set apart whisper I once knew Chorus “If you love Me, keep My commands” Those words began to rise Not just comfort, not just grace But love that obeys, not compromise “Remember the Sabbath …” It echoed in my soul And conviction wouldn’t let me go No, it wouldn’t let me go Verse 2 – The Resistance I said, “It cannot be this way We’re under grace, not law.” Sunday’s what I’ve always known This must be some small flaw I searched the Word to prove it wrong But truth began to shine The more I studied, the more I saw Your commands were still divine I heard the voices all around “That’s old, that passed away.” But deep inside the Ruach spoke “Obedience is better than sacrifice.” Chorus “If you love Me, keep My commands” It wouldn’t fade with time Not tradition, not what’s safe But truth that draws the line I tried to silence set apart fear I tried to guard my role But conviction wouldn’t let me go No, it wouldn’t let me go Bridge – The Breaking I sat inside that church one day Trying hard to stay But when the Ruach spoke those words again My heart began to shake “To obey is better than sacrifice…” It felt like heaven called my name I looked around — they seemed at peace But I was not the same I ran outside, I wept at home “Please let me stay,” I cried “Let me keep my friends, my place — Don’t take this life from my side.” For whoever seeks to save his life Will surely lose it too ( Matthew 16:25 woven in ) But whoever loses it for Me Will find what’s pure and true Chorus – Surrender “If you love Me…” — now I know Love is not just song It’s choosing truth when it costs you much It is bending your will in obedience Though fear was loud and comfort sweet Your voice was louder still Conviction wouldn’t let me go Until I bent my will Outro Teach me now to walk Your ways Not just where I belong For blessed are those who hear Your Word And keep it — standing strong Conviction wouldn’t let me go… And that was mercy all along. #conviction #mercy
