373,000 lb Transformer Delivered in New England

This is one of three transformers we delivered in the New England region. The transformers weighed 373,000 lbs each and were delivered from a rail siding to several power plants. The problem was the transformers were 16'6" tall and there were hundreds of overhead utility lines over the road. We used our transformer deck between two 6-Line Goldhofer Modules to hold the transformers only 12" above the road during transport, and pulled the trailer with a Kenworth W990. We used a self-propelled module on the back so we could unhook the truck when arriving at the site and self-power the trailer into place beside the new foundations. One of the routes had to have a jumper bridge laid out for protections against allowing our full weight onto the old bridge.
