My visit to the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam

If you coming to Ho Chi Minh I cannot recommend highly enough a visit to the WAR REMNANTS MUSEUM. It cost less than $2 to enter and you can spend as much time here as you like. Outside you get the typical military hardware of the time, but it's inside the main building that the stories really come to life. 1000's of photos of the war (Vietnam war or Resistance war) from both sides that tell harrowing stories and give you a real sense of the futility of this war and the devastation and suffering it left behind. But despite this, the way the museum is designed, it doesn't leave feeling sad, it leaves you feeling a sense of empathy and hope for brighter futures. The Vietnam culture cannot escape the impact of this conflict, and yet they learn from it and simply decide to welcome everyone with their wonderful culture. Clean toilets and cafe are also on site.
