Rock Train on the GSMR

Normally the GSMR only consists of a passenger train either going to the Nantahala Gorge or to Dillsboro out of Bryson City, however on this adventure out to the western part of North Carolina, we were surprised to see a crew with GSMR GP38-2 2335 waiting in the siding at the Nantahala Outdoor Center waiting for the Nantahala Gorge train to arrive so that they could continue west to collect the company ballast hoppers and return them to Bryson City. After the gorge train departed, we opted to wait for the return trip of the ballast train to chase them back to Bryson City due to the rarity of seeing something besides passenger cars behind the GSMR diesels.
