The Billie Jean King National Tennis Center has 22 courts set across 46.5 acres with an additional 12 practice courts located in a complex outside the main grounds. The main court is the 23,771-seat Arthur Ashe Stadium, which opened in 1997. The stadium is named after Arthur Ashe, who won the men's singles title at the inaugural US Open in 1968, and was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1985. The second largest court is the 14,061-seat Louis Armstrong Stadium. The third largest court is the 8,125-seat Grandstand. Court 17 in the southeast corner of the grounds is the fourth largest stadium. It has a seating capacity of 2,800.
