Reconnecting Oakland with its historic waterfront on the Bay, Brooklyn Basin is a new mixed-use neighborhood in development, surrounded by open air and stunning views of San Francisco and the East Bay hills. When complete, these 64 acres, formerly of industrial use, will be transformed into a lively and modern neighborhood that incorporates residential, commercial and retail spaces. Bigge was awarded the contract to provide a tower crane and construction hoist to assist in the very first phase of construction. The Potain MDT 219 is ideally suited to move materials throughout the job site, operating at 117’ height under hook, with a 213’ swing radius, and a capacity of 11 tons. This installation employs a cross base chassis, eliminating the need for a concrete foundation and expensive consumable anchors. An Alimak Scando 650 hoist is in place to move workers and materials up and down floors throughout the day. With a covered steel platform dock A/B front and rear door configuration, this hoist operates at a speed of up to 175 feet per minute, with a capacity of 7,100 lbs. Bigge offers true turnkey hoist solutions that include design, engineering, installation, service and dismantling. And, Bigge is an authorized factory dealer for Potain self-erecting and city-class cranes. Learn more by contacting Bigge at (510) 756-2444 or visit our website at bigge.com
