South Dakota has one of the last holdouts of the iconic SD40-2, The Rapid City, Pierre, and Eastern! A gold mine for a railfan, the Pierre Subdivision is RARELY captured, and it has some wonderful scenery. Lets chase a train along the line, and see places that are criminally undershot! We'll start off after heavy rain, and storms had cleared up, near Holabird, SD. After this we encounter a locomotive from the Wisconsin Central days=m working at Harrold, SD. After the RCPE was done at Harrold, the train is captured a few more times in places such as Blunt, before making it to Pierre. With a very friendly crew, and great evening sun, this was a great way to spend a summer day, chasing the classic EMD SD40-2!
