Don’t Take Communion Lightly—It Can Heal or Harm You Adam ate—and his eyes were opened to sin. (Gen 3v7) The disciples ate—and their eyes were opened to Jesus. (Luke 24v30–31) In Adam, eating brought death. In Christ, eating brings life. 1️⃣ Communion was Central 📖 "They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." Acts 2v42 📖 "Therefore when you come together in one place, it is not to eat the Lord’s Supper." 1 Corinthians 11v20 Communion wasn’t an add-on—it was the heart of the gathering. 2️⃣ Jesus is Our Manna 📖 "I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." John 6v51 David refused to drink water his men risked their lives for “God forbid that I should drink the blood of these men.” (2 Sam. 23v17) ✝️ But Jesus gave His life for us—and invites us to drink. In Communion, we drink the blood of the One who died in our place. 📖 "So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem, for he ate continually at the king’s table. And he was lame in both his feet." 2 Samuel 9v13 (Mentioned also 2 Sa 9v7, 10, 11) What Happens When We Take Communion? 💭 We Look Back – “Do this in remembrance of Me.” (1 Cor. 11v24) 🔭 We Look Forward – “You proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.” (1 Cor. 11v26) 🤝 We Look Around – Unity in the Body. (1 Cor. 11v20–22) 🔎 We Look Within – “Examine yourself…” (1 Cor. 11v28) 📖 "For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world." 1 Corinthians 11v29 ‼️ If taking Communion wrong can bring judgment, imagine what taking it right can release—strength, healing, life.
