We’re welcoming back a true friend to the show—Dr. Ted Williams III. Actor. Professor. Author. Storyteller. Dr. Williams is a political science faculty member at Kennedy-King College and a graduate of the University of Chicago, Rutgers University, and Northern Seminary. As an actor, he has appeared in films and television, including The Chi, Chicago PD, and several independent productions. He is also the author of The Way Out: Christianity, Politics, and the Future of the African American Community. Most importantly, he is the creator of the powerful stage production 1619: The Journey of a People, a work that was nominated for the August Wilson Award for Best Writing of a Musical. Dr. Williams first appeared during Season One of The Interludes Podcast and has joined us twice before. We are honored to welcome him back as we close out Black History Month with a meaningful conversation about: • The historical and cultural significance of 1619: The Journey of a People • The intersection of faith, politics, and the African American experience • The influence of legendary activist and performer Paul Robeson • Why storytelling still matters in shaping our future This is more than an interview — it’s a reflection on legacy, activism, and the responsibility of artists to illuminate truth. Join us live and be part of the conversation. #BlackHistoryMonth #TalkOnTuesdays #PureLighthouseMedia #ValTheVoiceJohnson ABOUT VAL THE VOICE JOHNSON: A DJ Saved My Life" is the book by Val "The Voice" Johnson.
