Hi, I'm Taylor Nissi, Director of Operations for Game Breaker Lacrosse. I'm here today with Nick Schmidt who's one of our great regional directors. Please visit our website www.laxcamps.com. Nick's going to help us demonstrate proper shooting technique. The proper shooting position is to have a slight bend in your knees, in an athletic position. You want to have your hands about 10 to 12 inches apart, you're your opposite shoulder towards the goal. As he shoots he's going to step with his foot towards the goal and he's going to follow through with his shoulder and then he's going to follow through with his stick passed his knee. There are three different types of shots; stationary, crow hop and phenom hop. Nick's going to demonstrate those three. With the stationary shot as you can see he takes one step toward the goal is and follows through past his knee. He's getting his hands up and away from his body to maximize the speed of the shot. The next shot is the crow hop. This is a three step. He's going to step with his front foot his back foot is going to step behind it and his third step is again toward the goal. And the last shot is phenom hop and this is a slight hop off your back foot changing your weight distribution to your front foot. No matter what shot you're using it's important to have proper body alignment and foot work to maximize your chances of scoring.
