Dubbed 'Vicuña,' this release introduces GNOME 47 and KDE Plasma 6.2 as the flagship desktop environments, along with the robust Linux 6.6 LTS kernel. NixOS, originating from the Netherlands, is an independent GNU/Linux distro that revolutionizes system configuration management. Its unique Nix package manager ensures all packages are isolated, avoiding traditional directory structures like /bin or /usr. This enables reliable upgrades, easy rollbacks, reproducible configurations, and multi-user package management. But that's not all! This release also adds support for AMDVLK, HDR for Moonlight streaming, and the latest LLVM 19 compiler.
