Hey hey, dance fans? I'm Jager Weatherby coming at you from Wetpaint Entertainment, where we're knee-deep into Season 8 of So You Think You Can Dance. So far, Melanie Moore and Marko Germar seem to be the clear favorites, but you never know what might happen on this show. What we do know is that being crowned America's Favorite Dancer is pretty freakin' awesome. Here's what the past seven winners are up to today. Nick Lazzarini has the distinct honor of holding the first U.S. So You Think You Can Dance title. Today, Nick is on the faculty of Jump Dance Convention, where he teaches Jazz and Musical Theater... if you're up for a good class. Season 2 winner Benji Schwimmer has been teaching his ballroom skills to others too, through various conventions and schools around the world. Benji's also choreographed for and danced with former American Idol judge and soon-to-be X Factor panelist, Paula Abdul. Plus, he and several other So You Think You Can Dance alums are starring in a movie about a ballroom dancing family, set to come out on DVD this fall! Sabra Johnson, who took the title in Season 3, was a member of the Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet company for a brief time, which was featured earlier this season on the show. These days, Sabra's focus is on teaching, though she has aspirations to be on Broadway one day. After appearing as a pro on Season 2 of Oxygen's Dance Your Ass Off, our Season 4 winner, Joshua Allen, has been busy filming for his featured dancer role in the upcoming remake of Footloose. Oh, I'm so excited! Jeanine Mason from Season 5 has been making her round of guest appearances, including a contemporary ballroom routine with hottie Mark Ballas on Dancing with the Stars. The pair even dated, though that's ancient history. Recently, we saw Jeanine supporting her little sis Alexis, who was just short of making the Top 20 this season. There's always next year! We haven't heard much from Season 6 victor Russell Ferguson, since his appearance performing with the Season 7 tour, as well as at the 2010 Academy Awards. We suspect he's been auditioning 'round the clock to fulfill his dreams of a career in TV and movies. Season 7's "It" girl Lauren Froderman is currently working on a Gatorade ad campaign, in which dancers are finally being acknowledged as leigtimate athletes. Lauren also recently revealed she might show up as an all-star on Season 8! On a side note, Lauren's dating Season 3 cutie, Dominic "D-Trix" Sandoval... So adorable. Who's your favorite past winner? And, more importantly, which Season 8 dancer deserves to join this talented list? Join in on the conversation on our Facebook page at / sytycdfansite .
