Macy’s at Burnsville Center final explore and the dying mall it’s connected to. Filmed in March 23, 2025 Macy’s at Burnsville Center opened in 1977 as a Dayton’s as 1 of 3 anchor stores at Burnsville Center. It was converted into a Marshall Fields in 2001 and a Macy’s in 2008. While the store has been renovated, some parts do show the original character. The mall itself is a dying mall at best, with Sears and Macy’s now gone. March 23, 2025, the day this video was recorded, was the final day this store was open to the public. It is now closed and can no longer be accessed easily. Everything was on sale that day, including their display tables, clothing racks and all sorts of interesting items. I do not have space for more furniture, but those tables and display racks were a steal for somebody who did. The mall is currently in the process of being bought out. From what I have been able to find. Part of it may be torn down to make room for a housing complex and part will be converted into some sort of Asian themed mall with stores and restaurants. I am not exactly sure which parts are staying or if that plan fell though, but I will continue to update if anything interesting happens. This mall was never my “childhood mall” but I did go here a few times as a teenager and shopped at both Macy’s and JCPenney. The food court is really sad to see too, all of the mall classics are gone and mostly just local smaller restaurants that I had never heard of.
