This weekend I was having company, so I gave my old picnic table a new paint job and restored a pair of cast iron garden chairs that I bought on Facebook marketplace. The couple I got the chairs from were selling just the chair ends, and taking the old wood from the chairs to the tip. I persuaded them to give the wood to me, and I found a way to renew and re-use it. The chairs turned out really nice, and only cost me £30 for the pair - £15 for the cast iron ends, and another £15 for new hardware and the products I used (WD-40 and clear wood protector). They are extremely sturdy chairs with heavy cast iron ends and hardwood slats, so quite a bargain at that price. In this video I also share a few clips of what is flowering in the garden this week. Sorry to be uploading late - it was a busy weekend for me and I have only just gotten round to editing the video. Thank you for watching and I wish everyone a lovely week ahead. 0:00 Intro 0:57 Lupins 1:33 Lily 1:48 Clematis 2:06 Hydrangeas 2:38 Birdbath 3:41 Repainting the picnic table 4:32 Cast iron garden chairs 5:10 Repairing the wood slats 7:22 Drilling new holes 9:45 Applying wood protector 10:20 Removing old rusty bolts 11:58 Assembling the chairs 14:31 Tidying up 15:28 Outro
