How I Fell Into Instructional Design & eLearning Development

#eLearning #InstructionalDesign Although I've been working in the field of instructional design and eLearning development for almost 15 years, the truth is, it wasn't something I ever had planned for my career. In fact, I don't have any formal background or training in eLearning or instructional design—I have a degree in criminal justice and I used to catch shoplifters for a living! But one day, I was thrown into a new role, helping to create training to teach others how to catch shoplifters...and as they say, "the rest is history." While I felt like a total imposter when I first fell into eLearning and instructional design, I've since learned that my journey into this industry wasn't unique. Most people working in this industry were once good at something and then were tasked with creating training on that thing.
