As high-income countries continue to advance care for people with cystic fibrosis, the gap in outcomes between them and lower- and middle-income countries continues to grow. To improve global outcomes, it’s essential to start by understanding the local context of the country you wish to engage with — its healthcare infrastructure, cultural perspectives, and available resources. This includes amplifying the voices of local communities, advocating for critical resources, and co-developing strategies for multidisciplinary team training, resource access, and sustainable process improvements. The development and use of patient registries and consistent outcome reporting are key tools for identifying gaps, tracking progress, and guiding interventions. By fostering multidisciplinary collaboration and peer mentoring, we can work toward closing these gaps and improving care for people with CF in low- and middle-income countries.
