Itanagar, Feb 9: The Arunachal Civil Society (ACS) has raised serious allegations of corruption, conflict of interest, and uneven distribution of development funds in the state. During a press conference, ACS stated that a writ petition has been filed before the Supreme Court seeking a CBI or court-monitored SIT probe into the alleged awarding of government contracts to firms linked to Chief Minister Pema Khandu and his family members. The organisation cited contracts allegedly awarded to firms including M/s Alliance Trading Co., M/s Brand Eagles, M/s Frontier Associates, and M/s RD Construction. ACS also alleged disproportionate fund allocation to certain districts and irregularities in awarding contracts under state schemes. The organisation further expressed concern over illegal immigration and governance issues. Demanding accountability, ACS urged the Chief Minister to step down on moral grounds until completion of judicial proceedings. The organisation warned of launching a phase-wise democratic movement if their demands remain unaddressed.
