(12/18/2025) The day of this video being recorded marks 10 years since the release of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. As a Star Wars fan born in the year 2000, this was a huge experience for me. Episodes I-VI were all quintessential parts of my experience with the franchise. While I had a bit of a recession period in the early 2010s, my passion for Star Wars was renewed in a big way at the beginning of 2015. 2015 was a great calendar year in my personal life, and much of that was attributed to my renewed passion for Star Wars, with me binging Episodes I-VI several times during the year, often in a single weekend. Everything was building up to the release of The Force Awakens on December 18. I spent December 17 and 18 doing one last marathon with my close friend Menlo Grohman before we saw The Force Awakens on December 19. It was easily one of the most anticipated movies I've ever seen, and very few movies even to this day can rival that status. I later saw it again with my brother in February 2016 at a drive inn theater. While it's sad to revisit The Force Awakens nowadays because of where the rest of the Sequel Trilogy went, I still hold a soft spot for the unique experiences it provided me. I completely understand the issues the Sequel Trilogy had, but I also want to avoid the stereotypical toxic behavior commonly exhibited towards the Sequel Trilogy, specifically by those who blatantly pretend they ever existed. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this video as I recounted my experiences with The Force Awakens, both leading up to it, and the impact and legacy. Also, shoutout to Nathan Butler, creator and host of From the Star Wars Home Video Library, which I discovered in 2015. @ChronoRadio
