What’s really in your vitamins? Most of us take supplements to support energy, mood or nutritional gaps, but how often do we read the ingredients behind the label? In this episode I visit Viridian HQ to unpack their No Gunk philosophy: only active, beneficial nutrients go in and unnecessary manufacturing aids stay out. Those “extras” (often called excipients) include things like flow agents (to help powders move through machines), bulking agents (to make tablets bigger), and artificial colourants (to make them look uniform). They may help a factory line run faster, but they don’t nourish you. We cover: • What belongs in a supplement and what doesn’t • How to spot common fillers (e.g. magnesium stearate, talc, titanium dioxide) on labels • Why transparency and batch testing matter for purity and potency • How to read a label (no science degree required) • What NRVs are, and why “minimum intake” isn’t always the same as “optimal for you” • How traceability works - from soil to capsule shell Viridian is one of the few brands committed to active-first, additive-averse formulations, with full ingredient disclosure (including the capsule shell) and documented testing for each batch. ie No artificial additives. This film is part of a wider educational series to help you shop with more confidence and clarity.
