Experts exist in all fields, but even experts are fallible and can give advice or opinions that come off as fact. It's important that you understand when an expert is giving you advice in a field that does not have exact certainties (i.e. math or sciences) that their advice is often just their educated opinion. Experts almost always speak with authority, because they want to sound knowledgeable and to be seen as an authority in their field. People are predisposed to pay more attention and trust people who speak with authority and give absolute answers. The truth is, there are plenty of times that an expert will give advice when they should really be saying, "I don't know". Saying "I Don't Know" doesn't make someone sound like an expert. It makes them sound unsure and uncertain, because that exactly what they are. Every expert has times when they don't know the outcome, but a good expert will offer advice with the caveat that it is their educated opinion.
