No More. "Whore on the Waterfront" George Hurley, Chris Fernandez, Daniel Nuno 1996

They used to call themselves 'Magic Maggots" when I first met them and they started rehearsing at my studio. I casually told them you might want to think about a new name because that one is pretty offensive and so they came in next time and Chris, the singer proudly told me they were now "Whore on the Waterfront". Not Whores as in 3 but collectively they were One waterfront, as in San Pedro, Whore. And of course I told them "How Nice". No More is one of 5 songs I video taped with my new Sony semi digital tape camcorder. All but one of the 5 are up on this channel. The thing about this band is how George knows how to pick-em. He finds good singer songwriters. Being friends as musicians and contractors he asked me if he could rehearse with a new band and I said sure OK go ahead. I really didn't give them much thought as I was too old to be a punk fan growing up so the first couple times they rehearsed was no big deal to me. But the songs weren't necessarily anything classifiable other than powerful. And Chris' energy started shine and bleed through the studio walls. Then I started shooting random videos and played them for others, musicians etc. and it was all good. The very first video tune I uploaded to my own San Pedro Music website back in the Windows 98 days, I prefer to say pre-911 times was one of these. Remember the Windows media player and also Real Audio players? And I had to upload it to my own server where it stayed for a long time. Anyway the point being we down here in Pedro really started liking them thinking there would be more to come but then George did some tours in Japan with Red Krayola and when he returned Chris was gone. He did live up in LA as did Daniel but that's only 30 minutes away. To this day here in 2023 we cannot find him. No internet presence whatsoever and even with the other videos I posted here years ago asking for him to contact me or George... well let's say he hasn't popped up. If anyone knows Chris and see's this and reads this leave a comment. It's no big deal. Just wondering how many grand kids you all got. 96 was a long time ago. Thanks in Advance - Bob
