Hi I'm Kent and I'm part part-time creative in London. I've been making narrative content for 2 years now, and this year, I will be venturing into making self-funded short films. So, I am happy to announce that I have released my first short film of 2026 on YouTube. It is called 'Will Wants To Be A Giant Octopus' It is about, An isolated young black man who leaves reality behind to become a giant Octopus 🐙 Isolation, reincarnation, water, and false hope. I created this short film to explore the deep-seated desire to dissociate from reality and find solace in a fantasy world. It's a reflection on how many people, feeling overlooked and disconnected, yearn to escape their reality and inhabit a different existence. While the film carries a bittersweet tone, it resonates with the universal longing for freedom and the hope of finding a space where one can truly be oneself, outside the constraints of societal norms. I want to thank, Francesca Amewudah-Rivers @franarivers for her work on sound design and composing music for this film. Eloka Ivo for granting me access to camera equipment. Monica Ibe for raising funds to go towards the project. The Chelsea Sports Centre for accepting my proposal to use their facilities to film the opening sequence.
