Herbaceous Border August - A Riot of Colour (Long Version)

The Herbaceous Border, the longest double-sided border in Ireland is a riot of colour this August at Powerscourt Gardens. Spring was late this year, followed by a heatwave in July and then much-needed rain. All these elements have made the Herbaceous Border almost otherworldly, and a joy to walk through or sit and observe the abundance of biodiversity, especially bees. One of our Annual Members phrased it perfectly in conjuring up the intense colour and growth by passing comment that the beauty of the border right now makes you "breathless". It really must be seen to be believed.
