I create and curate my own content on my own terms, without the help or influence of anyone else, so you have guaranteed authenticity. Started April 1, 2020. This channel is ran by one person – me! I speak 4 languages (English, Chinese – Mandarin, Korean, and French. Any other languages you see have been translated and/or proofread by others (with credit when necessary). As a translator, my specific subbing style is to write in a way where my translations effectively capture the boys' personalities as well and makes the conversation/dialogue flow as smoothly and naturally as possible (i.e. as if it was said in full fluent English in the first place) without compromising the accuracy of the translations. As a result, I don't always do word-for-word, "literal" translations, but rather opt for different phrasings, vocabulary choices, syntax, some slang, rearrangement of sentence structure, etc. However, I want to be perfectly clear that my subs are still very much accurate! This is natural in translating, so I don't want to hear it in the comments below from people saying "actually this word in this language means that in English". I know that. The reason why I started this channel was to overcome the language barrier between WayV and their international fans (look at my channel about section or in the description box of all my videos). People who have watched my subbed videos and speak fluently any of the languages I've translated for WayV videos can attest that the accuracy is still there, so please don't worry about that - I just also prioritize preserving the boys' personalities in what they're saying as well, because live-streams especially are the best way for fans to connect with their artists. I simply choose not to do literal, word-for-word translations sometimes because I generally find them ineffective and not only renders the dialogue between the members as cold/robotic/awkward, but also does not capture the true intonations, meanings, and context between what they're saying. Additionally, subbing this way allows me to avoid being accused of copying others' translations and to also protect myself from MY translations getting stolen.
