The program includes Sweelinch's Toccata and Fantasia chromatica, SwWV 258; Allison/Morley "Goe from my Window"; works by William Byrd (Fantasia, Pavan and Galliard, BE 17/75, "The Bells," BK 38); works by Purcell (Suite in G major, Z. 660, Chaconne in F major, Suite in G minor, Z.661, "A New Ground" in E minor, Z.T682, Suite in C major, Z.666, and Ground in D minor "Crown the Altar," Z.D222) and works by John Blow (Suite in D minor, Chaconne in F major). Speaker Biography: Harpsichordist Richard Egarr is the director of the Academy of Ancient Music in London and an associate artist with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. He frequently appears as a guest conductor with the London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Concertebouw Orchestra and the Handel and Haydn Society. As a solo harpsichordist he has performed at Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall and many other leading venues. His recordings with the Academy of Ancient Music have received Gramophone, MIDEM and Edison awards. He was organ scholar at Clare College, Cambridge.
