Diversity Data: Are You Measuring What Matters

To achieve parity for women in technology we need data that tells the whole story about women’s experience at work. Beyond hiring and promotion rates, data needs to look at the intersection of ethnicity, gender, age, etc. We need to look closer at factors that are affecting retention and advancement. If a manager with the highest turnover rate of women is a man with no history of managing diverse groups, we need to address it. Deeper insights lead to better action. In this talk at Tech Inclusion 2019, Brenda Darden Wilkerson discusses the data leaders should be measuring in order to drive parity in the workplace.
