From Lister's antiseptic system, to 3D printing organs to assist surgeons in planning complex operations, King's has contributed significantly to surgical and medical innovation. In this video, Pankaj Chandak, a Research Fellow at King's, looks back at Lister's achievements and how surgical techniques and technologies have developed to improve patient care. Pankaj recalls how his team were called upon by directors of Netflix series 'The Crown', during the recreation of a surgery scene. The prop 'body' on which they operated on - showing King George VI undergoing lung surgery - was donated to the Gordon Museum of Pathology and King's.
